ETHOXCARE® CO-40 is the polyethylene glycol derivative of castor oil with an average of 40 repeating units of ethylene glycol. It is a liquid nonionic emulsifier for oil-in-water emulsions, a surfactant, cleansing agent, and solubilizer with excellent chemical stability. ETHOXCARE® CO-40 has an HLB of about 12-14 and is compatible with anionic, cationic, and nonionic surfactants. It is particularly effective for solubilizing essential oils, fragrance oils, vitamins, and hydrophobic active substances in hydroalcoholic and purely aqueous solutions in the pH range of about 4-8. voir moins

It can be used in combination or combined with other surfactants to achieve any required HLB. Since It is completely saturated, it is more stable and lighter in color than the analogous unsaturated castor oil materials. It is useful as an emulsifier for making oil-in-water emulsions but specific members of this series also have additional benefits. ETHOXCARE® HCO-50 is useful as a detergent and solubilizer. ETHOXCARE® HCO surfactants conform to a specification of 1ppm max for residual ethylene oxide and 10ppm max for 1,4-dioxane and are all palm-oil free. voir moins
