optiphen™ bsb-n preservative is a combination of benzoic and sorbic acids in benzyl alcohol. Ashland's nature-identical preservatives are ideal solutions for products aimed at the Eco-aware consumer. This product is validated by ECOCERT according to the COSMOS-standard. Due to the organic acids, optiphen™ bsb-n preservative may be classified as a mild preservative. It is effective against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, yeasts and molds at acid pH values.
