It behaves like an anionic monomer and becomes an integral part of the polymer particles. The incorporated sulfonate groups stabilise the polymer dispersion by an electrostatic mechanism. Unlike surfactant-type stabilisers, Provichem 2203 will not desorb from the polymer particles. It retains its stabilizing effect even under more severe conditions, such as high shear and freezing conditions. Provichem 2203 provides superior mechanical stability during formulation (especially high solid latex), storage (for example in winter time), transport and final use of the water-based coatings and adhesives. voir moins |
