Vinyl Acetate Monomer

Documentos

Vinyl Acetate Monomer (VAM) is an active, colorless, and liquid phase chemical, produced by the vapor phase reaction of Ethylene, Acetic Acid, and Oxygen over a catalyst. It is stabilized with a hydroquinone inhibitor so that it can be put in storage. VAM can be used in many different applications. Vinyl Acetate Monomer is used in polyvinyl acetate as an adhesive for paper, wood, non-woven fabrics, rug backing, and as a material in paint. It is used in polyvinyl alcohol as a laminating adhesive, and in emulsifying agents and films. VAM is used in vinyl acetate-vinyl chloride copolymers as packaging film, adhesives, paints, and paper coatings. In ethylene-vinyl acetate-vinyl chloride terpolymer it is used as an adhesive with water resistance and fire retardant characteristics.

Empresa

DCC (Dairen Chemical Corp.) manufactures and supplies VAM, a main raw material for production of PVA and PVAc, to parent companies. It maintains the first VAM plant with an annual capacity of 85,000 MTY was licensed by Bayer AG (Germany). DCC successfully developed VAM down stream related products including EA, EVA Emulsion, VAE Re-dispersible Powder, Pyridine as well as high efficient catalyst for VAM production. In 1998, DCC transferred self-developed technology of Pyridine on turn key basis to CCP (Miao-Li Factory). Through its twenty years continuous effort and emphasis on R&D and quality improvement,
