Silasoma MEA(L) is an aqueous dispersion of encapsulated UV absorbers (60% as active component). This product is an average diameter of 2 micrometers microcapsule using silk protein as a wall material. And encapsulation eminently reduces penetration of UV absorbers into skin. It is suitable for sunscreen for sensitive skin or baby care. Encapsulating the UV absorbers provides a soft and light after-feel and allows for surfactant-free and safer sun protection formulations. Silasoma MEA(L) microcapsules contain Ethylhexylmethoxycinnamate (lower odor) and Butyl Methoxydibenzoylmethane. There are also products with different preservatives and chelating agents.
