Bayhydrol® UH 2557 is a cosolvent free aliphatic, anionic, fatty acid-modified polyurethane dispersion used as a binder in the formulation of water-reducible coatings and sealers for wood and wood materials. This product has a non-volatile content (1g / 1h / 125°C) of 34-36, a viscosity at 23°C, (D = approx. 100/s) of max. 100, and a pH (1:2.5 in demineralised water) of 7-9.
Due to its mechanical and chemical resistances, in particular black heel mark resistance, the product is particularly well suited for the formulation of parquet sealers. Post-curing of such coatings with Bayhydur®, for example, brings additional advantages and results in waterborne two-component coatings with even higher mechanical and chemical resistance. The mixing ratio of mill base to hardener is generally 10:1. The product can also be combined with other water-reducible binders. On account of the many potential co-reactants, compatibility testing should always be carried out.
