BioEstolide™ 1300 has a low acid value (<1.0 mg KOH/g), high dynamic viscosity (1300 cPs at 25oC), high refractive index (1.465) with an NOI of 0.95 (ISO 16128). This product easily disperses mineral and plant-based pigments for stable sun care products and color cosmetics. It is water-resistant (80 minutes) and offers occlusive emollience with ample playtime, spreading and cushion with long lasting moisturization in skincare formulations. In haircare, it has been found to protect the hair cuticle when permanent dyes and bleaches are used, and it provides enhanced thermal protection for use with hot tools. With its high viscosity, it can be used to thicken personal care formulations.
