Chili Pepper, Ancho

Chili Pepper, Ancho, is a mild pepper originating from Puebla, Mexico. This product is the dried form of a poblano pepper, and can have a range of heat and flavor depending on whether the fruit has been ripened. If it is picked before ripening, Chili Pepper, Ancho has a dark-purplish green color with a mild flavor, but a mature fruit will have a dark reddish color with a very intense heat. It can be used in combination with whipped or fried eggs, can be stuffed, as a constituent of mole sauces, and is widely found in chile rellenos. This product is available as a ground powder.
