DOUBLEMER® 588

DOUBLEMER® 588 is a decafunctional aliphatic urethane acrylate oligomer which provides very fast cure response when exposed to Ultraviolet Light (UV) or an Electron Beam (EB). Cured films of DOUBLEMER® 588 exhibit excellent hardness and solvent resistance without yellowing. Generally, it is used in combination with 3% of photoinitiator, such as Chivacure® 173 to reach an outstanding pencil hardness higher than 6H.

Formulated UV/EB curable products containing DOUBLEMER® 588 may be applied via lithographic, screen, gravure, direct or reverse roll and curtain coating methods. This product is recommended for use in: clear hard coatings on plastic; scratch resistant coatings on plastic; wood coating and fillers; and improving cured speed, solvent resistance and gloss.
