DISPERBYK®-164

DISPERBYK®-164 is a high molecular weight wetting and dispersing additive for solvent-borne systems and pigment concentrates. Solutions of high molecular weight block copolymers with pigment affinic groups. DISPERBYK® 164 is used in many formulations. For new developments, however, the additive DISPERBYK® 2164 (see Data Sheet W235) should be preferred. DISPERBYK® 164 has a molecular weight similar to that of DISPERBYK® 163, but is less polar and its solids content is higher. It is used in pigment concentrates and general industrial coatings. DISPERBYK® 164 does not contain aromatics.

Company

BYK has an established history of innovation such as being the first additive manufacturer to begin using Controlled Polymerization Technology (CPT), launching the first rheology-modified wax emulsion, and being one of the first companies to use nanotechnology for improving Coatings properties. BYK invests approximately 7.5% of its earnings in R&D—three times more than the industry average.
