BYK-4512 is an adhesion promoter for solvent-borne systems applied to metal substrates. In coil coatings, BYK-4512 improves adhesion after water immersion and forming processes, for example deep-drawing, T-bend, and corrosion resistance. It is particularly well-suited for use in chromate-free primers and on metal substrates that are pre-treated in a chromate-free manner. BYK-4512 reacts with melamine resins and polyisocyanates and is cross-linked into the polymer matrix. In industrial coatings, BYK-4512 improves the adhesion of coatings, which are applied directly onto metal or glass. The additive is particularly well-suited for use in 2K systems and baking coatings.
Company
BYK has an established history of innovation such as being the first additive manufacturer to begin using Controlled Polymerization Technology (CPT), launching the first rheology-modified wax emulsion, and being one of the first companies to use nanotechnology for improving Coatings properties. BYK invests approximately 7.5% of its earnings in R&D—three times more than the industry average.

ABOUT
Prospector Lists
Lists combine the ease of Bookmarks with the versatility of Tags. Instead of one collection of bookmarked items, create as many collections, called "Lists," as you need.
Previous Bookmarks and Tags
Find the link to your List page in the user menu.
All Tags have been converted to separate Lists, and your bookmarked items have been saved to a "Bookmarks" List.
Adding Items
When you click the Add to List button, a dropdown of your existing Lists appears. Click the List name to which you want to add this product or formula.
Create a New List
You can also create a new List. Simply click "Create a New List" and enter a name.
Multiple Lists
When you define a new List, the current item is automatically added to it. You can add a product or formula to as many Lists as you need.
Explore Your Lists
Easily see which Lists this item appears in, and quickly go to that List from the links that appear on the page.
