PolyKAS QA-151 is an acrylic polymer containing unneutralized acid functional groups which are designed to swell when they are neutralized by an alkaline agent, resulting in increased viscosity of the medium in which they are located. It develops high viscosity preparations with low or high loading.
PolyKAS QA-151 is recommended as a thickener in all kinds of synthetic resin emulsions in the formulation of paints in coatings, as well as a co-binder in the formulation of coatings for paper and cardboard. For best performance, it is suggested that this product be diluted 1:1 in water, keeping the pH as low as possible until it is fully incorporated into the preparation by slow mechanical stirring. Then the pH or viscosity can be adjusted as necessary by adding an alkali agent such as ammonia or triethanolamine.
