In addition, Ferulic acid has sun protection ability and has good UV absorption near 290 - 330nm. Therefore, Ferulic acid can be recommended to be used as whitening, freckle-removing, anti-aging, anti-wrinkle, anti-oxidant, and sun-screening in cosmetics. The preservative activity is maximized at pH 4,5 to 5,0 where the actives are in their undissociated states as their respective organic acids and act in a complementary nature by suppressing the growth and spore germination of bacteria and molds respectively.
