Ascorbyl Palmitate itself displays little activity, but inside the skin the physiologically active Ascorbylic Acid is released. It is used to promote the antioxidative efficiency of other antioxidants and is thus often combined with Tocopherols (Vitamin E) to strengthen their antioxidative power.
