It can be used as an alternative to parabens, phenoxyethanol, MIT or other preservatives that may be undesirable. It acts as a multi-functional emollient and moisturizer which can be used in skin care creams and lotions, or in surfactant-based products such as shower gels, facial cleansers, and shampoos. It is recommended that Lexgard® GCP MB be used at concentrations of 0.8 - 1.0% w/w. When Lexgard® GCP MB is used in emulsions, it is recommended that it be incorporated into the water phase.
