The hydrogenation of double bonds in the fatty acids results in a higher stability towards destructive oxidation and much better emulsifying and dispersion properties in aqueous media compared to common fractionated lecithin. More in detail, Cosphaderm® SB-75H creates very stable interfaces due to the compact structure. This makes hydrogenated lecithin the “first choice” emulsifier in case of formation of micelles and liposomes. It is also an excellent co-emulsifier and emulsifier for o/w as well as w/o emulsions. view less

Therefore the naturally occurring ratio between the different phospholipids and glycosides typically found in sunflower are kept. In cosmetic formulations, it is a natural co-emulsifier and highly suitable for forming w/o emulsions. But this is only one of the many functions lecithins have in skin care products. As active substances they have also skin conditioning properties (moisture, lipid and pH regulation) and stabilize the barrier function of the skin. view less
