Kahlwax 7157 is a Cetyl ester wax consisting of plant-derived, saturated, long-chained fatty alcohols (C14-C18) and fatty acids (C14-C18) like sperm oil (spermaceti). Its purity and technical data meet the requirements of European Pharmacopoeia for cetyl palmitate and for USP for cetyl esters. Kahlwax 7157 is suitable as a viscosity agent for cosmetic and pharmaceutical preparations. Comparisons with sperm oil have shown thickening properties of Kahlwax 7157 in W/O emulsions are slightly better.
