Methyl Octine Carbonate (485)

Methyl Octine Carbonate (485) is a colorless to pale yellow liquid used as a fragrance and a flavor. It has a green, violet leaf odor and is used for its strong but delicate violet leaf and mimosa odor and imparts green floralcy to gardenia, tuberose, rose, and violet types. As a flavor it has a sweet, strawberry, melon character used in melon type flavors, especially cantaloupe and strawberry and is useful for a variety of tea flavors. This product is the antioxidant version of Methyl Octine Carbonate, No Antioxidant (4851). It is insoluble in water and soluble in alcohol.
