Airborne particles like VOCs, NOx, and biopollution are also eradicated by EXOCOAT® 151A. It can be used as a general air purifier. Though most effective in outdoor light conditions, it is adapted for use under visible light as found in the interior. In all cases, it should be used as a topcoat to ensure its full effect. Glass and walls coated with EXOCOAT® 151A are super hydrophilic enhancing water-sheeting, also called the wash-off effect. It may be used on other flat surfaces such as plastics or coated substrates yet only interior. It dries under room temperature conditions. It may omit toxic chemicals and functions as a replacement for Cr3+ and Cr6+-based systems used in metal plating and aerospace industries. It is activated by light and displays quick drying at room temperature. Spray application is recommended to reach thin monolayers. It has extremely high water exclusion properties which helps to produce superhydrophobic coatings. It can be applied on concrete, pavement, walls, and stucco to get the so-called Lotus Effect. The sol-gel system deposits superhydrophobic particles on the porous substrate. EXOCOAT® SH will not form a film and as a result, the wall stays breathable. With the contact angle of 145o water droplets bounce back from the surface and will roll down immediately upon touch.
