TBS Monomer (tertiary-butyl Styrene) is a versatile substitute for styrene monomer with improved properties and fewer handling restrictions. From a performance standpoint, TBS has low volume shrinkage on polymerization, a high affinity for oils, high solvent receptivity and improved water resistance of copolymers. From an environmental standpoint, TBS has a low vapor pressure and high flash point which reduces emissions from storage or handling and reduces the flammability hazard.
