It improves the rheological properties and brilliance of effect pigment slurries that are co-solvent-free. This product provides the following properties: improves effect pigment orientation, reduces cloudiness /mottling, shows less sensivity to co-solvents in coating systems compared to PU based thickeners, is “ready to use”, provides easy handling and incorporation compared to clays or acrylic thickeners, and excellent anti-settling properties in coatings during storage and application. view less

The fine nature of this dispersion means that CRAYVALLAC® 60P is easily incorporated and activated in coating systems. It is mainly used in industrial and maintenance coatings where its primary function is to provide pigment suspension without any increase in the apparent viscosity. CRAYVALLAC® 60P can generally be used in most solvent-based formulations. Typical applications are epoxy primers, vinyl primers, anti-fouling paints, road marking paints and chlorinated rubber coatings. view less Request Sample

Under paste form for post-addition to solvent-based low polarity coating systems, it provides a shear-thinning rheology with thixotropic viscosity recovery to coating formulations. In coating systems, its crystalline fibres form an interacting network which gives rise to the shear-thinning rheology of the final coating. It provides a very high viscosity under the low shear rates associated with sedimentation, and a low viscosity at the much higher application shear rates. The net result is excellent control of sedimentation combined with ease of application. Immediately following application, the coating’s viscosity undergoes a time dependent recovery as the network re-establishes itself. This time dependence is known as thixotropy and enables the final coating to attain very good levelling. view less Request Sample
