Portalum® B 25

Portalum® B 25 is produced from carefully selected bauxite (natural hydrated alumina) that has been calcined at 1650 °C to a high density Al 2O3. The main constituent of calcined bauxite is corundum, the second hardest mineral after diamond. The hardness of Portalum® B is used mainly in specific paint applications where the utmost hardness, abrasion resistance and antiskid properties are demanded. Examples include inner linings of bulk carrier ships, anti-skid flooring applications and anti-skid surfaces of traffic bridges. The apparent density of this grade is 1.8g/cm3.
