It displays typical chemical reactions of alcohols as well as vinyl functional compounds. R-type polyglycols can be used for a wide variety of chemical reactions. They can be copolymerized with different monomers in order to increase hydrophilicity and improve dispersing properties of the resulting polymers in water.
