This white, waxy flake substance is composed of fatty acid polyethylene glycol phosphoric acid ester. It is used as an emulsifier in mineral oil thickeners. The dosage is about 5 – 30 g/l Emulsogen® DMR. Such mineral oil emulsions are used e.g. in textile printing processes together with reactive dyestuffs. Emulsogen® DMR is dissolved in hot water resulting in a 10% stock solution. The stock solution is diluted together with mineral oils (boiling range of 120 to 150°C) and water in dissolvers at 1500 to 2000 rounds per minute.
