I...view more Desmodur® RC is a solution of a polyisocyanurate of toluene diisocyanate (TDI) in ethyl acetate. It is suitable for crosslinking adhesives based on Desmocoll®, natural or synthetic rubber, especially pale-colored adhesives used to bond rubber materials. It is a virtually colorless to slightly yellowish liquid, but the color does not influence the quality of the bonds. This product has an NCO content of 7.0 ± 0.2%, a solids content of approx. 35%, and a density at 20°C of approx. 1.01g/cm^3. After addition of Desmodur® RC, the ready-to-use two-component adhesive must be used within its pot life. This is not only governed by the polymer content of the adhesive but also by its other constituents (resins, antioxidants, plasticisers, solvents, etc.). At the end of the pot life, usually several hours or one working day, the adhesive becomes in-creasingly difficult to work and its viscosity increases rapidly. Thi...view more Desmodur® VKS 10 is a mixture of monomeric polyisocyanates that is suitable for combination with Baycoll® in the formulation of adhesives. It is a mixture of diphenylmethane-4,4'-diisocyanate (MDI) with isomers and higher functional homologues (PMDI). This product is a solvent-free, dark brown liquid of low viscosity at temperatures above 10°C, which may partially crystallise at lower temperatures. This product has a phenyl isocyanate content of max. 50mg/kg, a vapor pressure at 20°C (MDI) < 10^-5 hPa, density at 20°C of approx. 1.2g/cm^3. Desmodur® VKS 10 can be combined with Baycoll in the formulation of adhesives for bonding many materials, e.g. wood, metal and plastics. It is particularly suitable for combining with Baycoll in the formulation of reactive two-component adhesives and moisture-curing one-component adhesives.
